4 Fun Things to Do for Family Photos
1. Have a picnic
Enjoy some quality time with your family by having a picnic in a beautiful location during your photoshoot! Bring a blanket and basket filled with yummy snacks and fun props like colorful pinwheels, bubbles, and banners. Don’t forget to capture some fun selfies, too! I have done some really beautiful family photoshoots in places like Arbor Hills in Plano, Texas and the Prairie Creek Park in Richardson. There are also a lot of great spots around the Dallas Metroplex for doing family photoshoots and picnics. You can combine the two for an amazing experience and some really great photos of your family.
2. Play dress-up:
This is probably my favorite. I love doing themed photoshoots. Make your photoshoot extra memorable by having everyone dress up in costumes or unique outfits that follow a theme! Kids will have a blast getting to dress up and play a part and parents can bring out their inner child too. Doing a magazine style layout like you would see in Vanity Fair as an example. You can create some amazing images that are worthy of being printed, framed, and hung on the wall and then passed down for generations. There is really so much that you can do with this one. You are only limited by your imagination. There are also some really great spots and specialty studios in the Dallas area that can really take your images from great to epic by having the right location. 3. Use props
Props are great for adding a touch of whimsy to your photos. Bring along a few balloons, signs, or even silly hats! You can also use themed props that match the theme of your outfits or theme of the location you have chosen. Sometimes adding something really simple can make a really big difference. Sometimes combining the right props in a familiar setting like home can even make for some really great photos.
4. Have a laugh
Laughter is one of the best ingredients for an amazing family photo! Ask everyone to put their hands up and make funny faces, or have each person take turns telling jokes.
